The Fraxinus raywood, commonly referred to as
the Claret or Raywood Ash, was named and discovered by T.C. Wollaston
near his Bridgewater property in the mid 1920s.
The Claret Ash is a good shade tree with a beautiful
deep red Autumn foliage. In 2003, the Claret Ash was added to the Bank
SA Heritage Icons List.
